At 18 years old, I started to record artist to my beats wondering why they sounded so out of pocket and flat. I would be sitting in my car playing back the song we had just made compared to my favorite songs, and I noticed that there was a noticeable quality difference. However, I had just assumed that it’s because we lacked access to a great studio. It wasn’t until I did a quick youtube search that I discovered what mixing was. I started to implement these different techniques (eq, compression, reverb..etc) and realized it wasn’t the equipment we were using, but how we were using it. I aspired to mimic top mix engineers such as MixedByALi, Alex Tumay, Bainz, Dave Pensado, and many more. With their expertise, I started to understand how to process vocals to get them to sit in pocket with the instrumental. Through trial and error, here I am today, running a business off recording artists who seek out that same industry level sound to bring them one step closer to their dreams.
